ASTORIA — LightBox Photographic Gallery hosts the artists’ reception for “Odd,” 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. The show will be on display through Wednesday, Nov. 7.

The exhibit’s images deviate from the normal — either in subject or in method. They are mismatched, individualistic, outside-the-box and peculiar. The exhibit was juried by Russell Joslin, former owner, editor and publisher of the photography journal Shots.

“A compelling variety of photographic techniques and processes were utilized to create these images (including wet-plate, pinhole, gelatin silver, cyanotype, Polaroid, double-exposure, mixed-media, film, and digital) and to assist in expressing each artist’s ideas that challenge convention and endeavor to enlighten the shadowy corners of their viewers’ psyches,” Joslin said in a statement.

Complete show info is at lightbox-photographic.com/shows/. The gallery is at 1045 Marine Drive in Astoria.
