ASTORIA — A one-of-a-kind performance and lecture by pianist Andreas Klein takes place 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Clatsop Community College’s Performing Arts Center, 588 Franklin St.

This special evening, named “Dancing Through Time,” is a benefit for the PAC. Tickets are $15.

The New York Times called Klein “a fascinating artist with all the indispensable qualities: temperament, taste, touch, tone, the four Ts of pianism … (He) makes silences sound like music.”

With his meteoric rise in his native Germany, where he performed recitals and was a soloist with orchestras, his musical journey took him to the Juilliard School in New York. Klein has performed in many of the world’s most famous concert halls.
