Contra dance kicks off at Arts & Movement Center

ASTORIA — Dance to live music by the Clatsop County Stringband 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Astoria Arts and Movement Center at the corner of Commercial and 10th streets.

Dance caller Dave Ambrose will get beginners started with a lesson at 7 p.m. The dancing will start at 7:30 p.m. The dances are easy to learn; no fancy footwork is required.

All ages are welcome to this smoke- and alcohol-free dance. Admission is $5 to $10. Children under 12 are admitted free. It’s the perfect way for a family to get out and have fun together.

This is the first dance of the season. There will be a contra dance the third Friday of the each month through winter and spring.
