SEASIDE — “Rockin Out Cancer,” a benefit for Clatsop County’s 25th Relay for Life featuring Nashville country music star Ty Herndon, will be held Saturday, July 7, at Seaside High School.

The event is free and open to the public. It will be emceed by Capt. Jack Sparrow’s “cousin.” This year’s event is dedicated to Doug Parvi, who lost his battle to lung cancer in October 2017.

Enjoy live music at 5 p.m., a silent auction, a photo booth, great food, family fun and themed laps. An autographed guitar by Herndon will be available in the silent auction.

Salon La Figlia will cut hair to donate to Pantene, which makes wigs and gives them free to cancer patients.

Donations will be accepted and will benefit those fighting cancer in Clatsop County. A canned food drive that benefits the Clatsop County Regional Food Bank is also on hand.

The opening ceremony kicks off at 10 a.m., and the Luminary Ceremony is at 10 p.m.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. These events bring our community together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer.
