ASTORIA — Two artists featured at the Astoria Art Loft, Bobbi Bosse’ and Jacquelyn Hern, are retired. They raised families, developed professional careers, put others’ needs and interests before their own — the old familiar story. Now both are making up for lost time with their artwork.

Bosse’ paints in oils, acrylic and watercolor. She has developed several styles, and her subjects reflect her life on the East Coast near the Atlantic Ocean. Recently, she has been painting in watercolor and her love of the sea and nature are reflected in her paintings.

Hern also paints in oils and acrylic. Watercolor is her medium of choice. She paints various subjects, and her sense of humor and whimsy lead to creations guaranteed to tickle your funny bone.

The Art Loft is privileged to present the paintings of these two artists. They represent ongoing learning after retirement, the pursuit of dreams and the discovery of talent that is revealed with study and perseverance. Their artwork is notable, their energy and passion inspiring.

Visit the Astoria Art Loft at 106 Third St. in Astoria, meet the artists and enjoy their paintings. The space is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and by appointment.
