ASTORIA — Clatsop Community College’s 2018 annual Art Student Show will be featured in the Royal Nebeker Gallery, 1799 Lexington Ave., in Astoria Thursday, May 17, through Friday, June 8.
The opening reception will take place 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, and will kick off with a special dedication of the gallery sign in honor of Royal Nebeker and the naming of the gallery in his memory.
Following the dedication, cash prizes and award winners will be announced. The juror for this year’s show is Sarah Nebeker, who will attend the dedication and awards presentations and give a brief gallery talk.

In the early years of Astoria’s rich arts community, Sarah organized, choreographed and danced in performances in Astoria and Portland, and also worked with her husband to develop and grow an arts community in Clatsop County through education and community collaboration.
